Temelkovski adds ‘Bring back’ to ‘Re-elect’ signs
The “Re-elect” Lui Temelkovski signs have been the subject of many conversations, not only in Oak Ridges — Markham but also nationally.
“I listen, discuss and comprise,” Temelkovski said.
Temelkovski is seeking to return to his seat as MP for Oak Ridges — Markham. He was elected in 2004 and 2006, but was narrowly defeated by Conservative Paul Calandra, who is seeking re-election
A statement from Temelkovski’s campaign said Elections Canada does not define “re-elect” as referring to the incumbent, and Webster’s Dictionary states that “re-elect” means to go into another term.
Temelkovski added that in the next while, his large signs and Web site will have “Bring back” rather than “Re-elect.” Lawn signs on private property will have “Bring back” at the owner’s request.
“The real issue in this campaign is that (Prime Minister Stephen) Harper is the most dangerous Prime Minister in Canadian history,” Temelkovski said. “Of all the Prime Minister’s in Commonwealth history, Mr. Harper is the only one who has ever been found in contempt of democracy.”
“Mr. Harper, does not listen, he does not discuss, he does not compromise,” he charged. “He misinforms, he viciously attacks those who do not share his point of view and worse, he feels that only he has the truth.”
