Lions seniors have sights on Tier 1 playoffs
      Running back Darian Waite has run for five touchdowns this season in three games for the King City Lions senior football squad. Quarterback Alex Alguire has thrown for six touchdowns, including two to slot back Taylor Calverley.

King reign double over Oro in messy weekend
      It was a messy weekend with a pair of lofty victories over the Oro-Medonte 77’s for the King Wild. They dominated in 8-1 and 8-2 wins Friday at the Oro Township Community Arena and Saturday at the Dr. William Laceby Arena and Community Centre, though the high deficits made retaliation the only thing of the Oro players’ psyche.

Martella finding his claws after missing year with injury
      Chris Martella last suited up for the Schomberg Cougars Oct. 19, 2008, before being sidelined for the rest of the year with a shoulder injury after recording 10 points in his 11 games. The lanky six-foot twoinch, 180-pound forward has slowly found his identity with the Cougars, who are also finding their niche in the Georgian Bay Mid-Ontario Junior C Hockey League.
