See Fireproof at church Friday

Happy Times Euchre Club

Submitted by

Shirley Stonehouse

The top player among the ladies at the March 25 meeting of the Happy Times Euchre Club was Mary Hammett, followed by Joan Edwards, Marjorie Williamson and Anne Sweeney. The lucky draw winner was Irene Palmer.

Leading things at the men's tables was Margaret Mulgrew, followed by Annie Hill, Phil Gariepy and Ken Hodgson. Blanche Crane won the lucky draw.

The Share The Wealth winners were Shirley Kitchen and Shirley Stonehouse

We had a really good turn-out this week and there were a lot of lone hands in the decks, not all of them able to be played though. Better luck next week folks.

Dessert and Movie

Evening

The community is invited to a dessert and movie evening this Friday (April 3) at Springdale Christian Reformed Church (Rupke Road, just north of Highway 9).

The evening will start with coffee and dessert at 7 p.m., followed by the movie Fireproof at 7:45.

What is the movie about? Caleb and Catherine's marriage is in trouble. With the help of his father, Caleb makes a life-changing commitment to love God, and with God's help he begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife. But is it too late to fireproof his marriage? His job is to rescue others, now Caleb is ready to face his toughest job ever; rescuing his wife's heart.

There is no cost for the evening. For more information, call Heather Biersteker at (905) 939-8694. Note that the movie is suited to young adults and older. To see a clip of the movie, visit www.fireproofthemovie. com
