KEAC requesting more money this year
King council last week accepted the annual report of the King Environmental Advisory Committee (KEAC), including a request for a budget increase.
Township staff recommended councillors consider and adopt the recommendations contained in the report, except for the requested budget increase, from $3,000 to $5,000. That will be considered as part of the overall Township budget consideration for 2009.
The report also suggested that the current terms of reference for KEAC be maintained and that all council and committee meeting agendas continue to be posted on the Township's Web site and continue to be available to KEAC as well as the public and committees.
The KEAC report provided a summary to council, which dealt with recording and outlining projects which have been undertaken and completed by KEAC, as well as identification of on-going and future projects, which have been identified for the short and longer term.
The establishment of a budget request submission was based on the identified projects for the short-term.
