"Love completes or fulfills all things, it is an essential characteristic or quality of God, which lives within us, empower us and links us to one another., accordingly. His Love should be at the centre of all that we are, say and do." 1 Corinthians 13.

Thanks to the C. E. committee and Jodie Patterson (chief chef) and Alison Agar and their sisters for the lovely Breakfast with Mom Saturday morning. The waffles were enjoyed as we listened to a mom and daughter duet with Janie Brooks and Andrea Wappel and were entertained by Brook Wappel (the granddaughter) with her toddler-size violin.

Prayer and Praise will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the pastor's study. Next Sunday, the Ortberg study continues with Chapter 7. Join us for coffee and discussion in the lounge at 9:15 a.m.

As maple catkins fall on bulbs bursting into colour, we hope you enjoy getting out your lawn rakes, trowels, and Mother's Day pansies, but we invite you to take a break for inner rejuvenation, as well. You are welcome to drop in this Sunday, on the long weekend (May 18), for the early Holy Eucharist in the Chapel, at 8 a.m., or at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

The guest preacher at both times is our wellknown former Incumbent, Rev. Tim Elliott. Come and enjoy a touch of his love for jazz at the 10:30 a.m. service, and stay later for coffee to greet him and his wife Judy Maddren.

As we renew our own church lawn area, we are reminded of early history. In the early 1920s, the congregation decided they needed a basement under the original church, now called the Chapel, and they used picks, shovels, and wheelbarrows to excavate it. They then took down a long church shed (not used since the days of sheltering horses and buggies), that extended from the Keele Street sidewalk to the chapel, and turned the space into a lawn. History tells us that one of the active members (with a name still currently familiar), was Crawford Wells, of the general store named after him on Keele Street, near King Road.

This coming summer, we are offering a weeklong fun Vacation Bible School. To register your children, or volunteer to help, please e-mail or call the church office.

If you need special prayer, e-mail allsaintsrev@ eol.ca, and put "Prayer" in the subject line. Requests shared with a small prayer team are kept in confidence.

For shut-ins and other friends who would enjoy a midweek Eucharist and lunch, the Pastoral Care team plans an annual spring event in June. Please call the office if you know someone who would like to attend, or who needs a ride.

All Saints' Anglican Church, at 12935 Keele St. in King City, is a few doors south of King Road. The church office is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you know of a need, or would like Communion taken to someone, contact Rev. Skinner at (905) 833-5432, or e-mail allsaints@eol.ca
