Bucchus, 15, a pitcher/rightfielder, struck out three in three innings, as well as hit a two-run double in the fifth inning of a 6- 5 victory over Anderson in a tournament in Port Hope a couple of weeks ago. The Lions varsity boys' baseball team finished second in the tournament with wins against Clarington, 6-1, and Anderson. The Grade 10 student was also on the boys' junior football team this season. Bacchus plays baseball with the Canadian Thunder Birds from the Boys of Summer League out of Hamilton. He lives with his parents Eion and Pansy Bucchus in Oak Ridges.

School Michelle Cherny
Cherny, 17, is the captain and pitcher for the CDS senior girls' softball team. The team currently has a 1-1 record after a loss to Ridley College (St. Catharines) and a victory over Hillfield Strathalan College (Hamilton). She plays a vital role in the success of the team, as she demonstrates leadership and character, while also providing feedback to her teammates to help them improve. The Grade 12 student also plays basketball and golf with CDS, and during her years at the school has won girls' softball and basketball MVP awards. She also won the 2005 CISAA golf championship. She lives in King City with her parents Elena and Eugene Cherny.

Laura Casullo
Casullo, 14, participates in several sports at Villanova, including cross-country, junior girls' basketball and volleyball, senior girls' soccer and track and field. Currently she is a member of the soccer team, as well as the midget girls' 4 by 100 metre relay team and also runs the 800 metre and 1,500 metre dash in her division. The Grade 9 student's other accomplishments this season range from being chosen as co-captain for the volleyball team due to her outstanding commitment and leadership, winning MVP for basketball and qualifying and participating at OFSAA for cross-country in Niagara Falls. She also plays soccer for the Richmond Hill Raiders of the OYSL. She lives in Aurora with her parents Enzo and Anna Casullo.
