King's Corners Submitted by Lisa Lethangue The King Bible Church Overtimers will enjoy a Blossom Tour May 13. The next regular meeting is June 10 at the church at 1 p.m. An exciting program is planned and all are welcome. King City United Church Submitted by Shirley Burton "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture." Psalm 100:1-3. The next service (May 11) will be conducted by the Sunday school children to celebrate Pentecost and Mother's Day. They have put in a great deal of enthusiasm and all are welcome to enjoy this very special morning. Outreach and social Action Committee's next meeting is May 18 following the service. The Sparrow Lake trip is Sept. 12 to 14. Contact Serena Edmunds at (905) 833-2707 ASAP, if you would be interested in a wonderful weekend. To confirm your reservation, pass along a cheque for $50, payable to King City United Church. The total cost, (including deposit), will be about $80 per family. It is time to start thinking about the annual King Amazing Race June 7. We now have all our host homes - thank you all - but we still need prize donations. The race starts 1 p.m. promptly. Race organizers are still looking for a barbeque. To help out, contact Serena Edmunds, Daniela Weston or Marie Biggar. More details to follow. The cost is $5 per person. Shawn Kennedy, chaplain at the Woodbine Racetrack. We will remember his joyful rendition of Go tell it on the Racetrack! Rev. Chris Carter is on course, but will be with us May 11 at 10:30 a.m. for our Worship Service. Sunday school and Nursery care are provided. The Youth Group met for discussion and a pizza lunch. Call the Carters for upcoming Youth Group dates. Busy Moms is a growing group of young moms with their little ones, which meets regularly Fridays for Bible study and outings. The next meeting is May 16 at the de Roos's. The book study continues with great discussion over coffee Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the lounge. Prayer and Praise Hour is at 7:30 p.m. in the pastor's study. All are welcome for an informal time of sharing and prayer. Breakfast with Mom, hosted by the CE committee and the Youth Girls, is at 9:30 a.m. May 10 for the ladies. The Yard Clean Up is at 11, but early starters are welcome, contact Laura Payne. The coffee will be on. Don't forget Shower of Blessing is coming May 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Auxiliary and Missions Group is hosting a Community Tupperware Party May 27 at 7:30 p.m. We hope you can join us for dessert. All Saints' Anglican Church Submitted by Claire Alexander On Mother's Day and Pentecost, we welcome you to the early Holy Eucharist in the Chapel at 8 a.m., and to the monthly 9:15 a.m. breakfast between services, served by the men for everyone. The family service for Pentecost Sunday starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Bring your mother and mother-in-law, as we emphasize the importance of mother's prayers. Canada joins 200 nations in a Prayer for the World, on this Global Day of Prayer. Share in a joy-filled service with dance, celebration, and an artistic altar frontal the children created for Pentecost. Nursery supervision and Sunday school are available, with refreshments following the service. If you need a special prayer, e-mail to allsaintsrev@eol.ca, and put "Prayer" in the subject line. Requests are kept in confidence. Thanks for the response to the young people's Food Bank drive, which replenished supplies for York Region needs. We're offering a weeklong fun Vacation Bible School this summer. If you're interested in registering your children, contact the church office. If you are not going to the cottage for the Victoria Day weekend, join us for a special Sunday May 18 with former Incumbent and jazzloving friend, the Rev.
