King City resident has impressive season playing in Rochester Andrew Favot is clawing his way, learning the ropes in his first season playing NCAA Division I men's hockey with the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers. The King City resident racked up 10 points (five goals and five assists) in 31 games this season playing forward, as he helped the Tigers compile a 19-12-6 record (15-8-5 Atlantic Hockey record). The Tigers earned the number 2 seed in the 2008 Atlantic Hockey Tournament, as they played its first post-season games since moving to Division I in 2005. The Tigers swept Holy Cross in the quarter-finals by scores of 5-4 overtime victories March 7 and 8 at Ritter Arena in Rochester. They then advanced to the Atlantic Hockey Final Five where they lost to the Air Force Falcons in the semi-finals by a score of 5-0 March 15. Along the way this season they also defeated nationally ranked foes number 18 Cornell (4-1 Oct. 27) and number 12 Minnesota (4-3 Dec. 29). |
