Clean up the Marsh Saturday Submitted by Shirley Stonehouse The top player among the ladies at the April 4 session of the Happy Times Euchre Club was Greta Graham, followed by Colleen Coulter, Helen Groombridge and Margaret Mulgrew. The lucky draw winner was Lillian Rankine and the carrying prize went to Irene Palmer. Leading things for the men was Jake Steenhoek, followed by Ken Hodgson, Murray Kaake and Al Jackson. Bill Groombridge won the lucky draw and Murray Kaake took the carrying prize. The 50/50 prize winners were Arnold Rodgers and Shirley Stonehouse. Our condolences go out to Betty Ann Wilson and her husband Bob Bishop. Betty Ann's mother passed away and our prayers go out to them. Get well wishes go out to Joan Edwards and Gloria Clarkson - we want you back playing cards with us, we miss you. The Richmond Hill UCW put on a really nice lunch for the Happy Times Euchre Club and as usual they did a great job looking after us. The sandwiches, pickles and great desserts went over well. We had some players who were right on top of their game. Mildred Jessop stopped a lot of lone hands from going through and Jake Steenhoek accomplished a feat of near-impossibility. He took first prize in the men's category while snoozing most of the time. We're just not sure how he did that. Way to go Jake.
