York Pines United Church

The York Pines United Church Women are sponsoring a special evening occasion for May 14.

The speaker is Marjorie Mason, who will talk on the Art of Potscaping.

Those attending will learn to create their own amazing containers of plants or vegetables for their deck or balcony.

The program will start at 7 p.m.

Mason was selected to be a 2008 Canada Blooms guest speaker. She lectures across Canada and the United States, and is the author of Amazing Annuals, 1999.

She also hosts a radio show, Let's Get Growing, on 107.7 FM Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Mason has hosted garden tours across three continents. She and her son own and operate Mason Hogue Gardens in Uxbridge.

The talk will be at the church, on Lloydtown - Aurora Road, just east of Highway 400. The cost will be $15, and a limited number of tickets are available. Plants will be available to purchase. Refreshments and door prize are included.
