Celebrate spring at Spring Forest Festival

York Region will be celebrating Earth Week with a number of events, including an invitation to the Spring Forest Festival next Saturday (April 26).

It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the York Regional Forest, Eldred King Tract, at 16232 Highway 48 (east side of Highway 48, just south of Vivian Road) in Whitchurch- Stouffville

The festival will feature horse-drawn carriage rides through the forest, treeplanting, and a walking tour that includes looking for snakes and salamanders. Bring your gloves and shovel if you wante to help with tree-planting, and take a seedling home to plant.

The festival is part of a series of free, monthly guided walking tours of the York Regional Forest, offered under the York Region Greening Strategy.
