The Fashion Show Committee of King Blooms wants to thank all who participated in making the King Blooms Fashion Show, Spring . . . at last!!, a resounding success.

Prompt and generous response from businesses and individuals across King Township created a memorable evening. We also wish to thank those who supported the event by attending as well as bidding on the silent auction items.

This was a first for King Township, in bringing all the business communities together in a single venture to raise money for King Blooms and its bid in the National Communities in Bloom competition 2008. It was our hope to promote businesses and talent that has its roots in King, and King responded.

Because of the donations of services and goods, out of pocket expenses were minimal. Indeed, this is what Communities in Bloom is all about; people, plants an pride, growing together.

And thanks to our local newspapers, for their generous advance publicity for the Fashion Show. It was a big help in creating awareness of the event.

We also wish to acknowledge the presence of King Township firefighters, our local heroes. We appreciate their community commitment and thank them for their good-natured participation.

See you all Blooms Day, May 3, on the lawn at Nobleton Library. This will be a morning opportunity to learn more about various aspects of gardening, including pruning, lawn care, and attracting birds to your property. Watch for posters.
