Should be plenty of bargains Saturday at All Saints' rummage sale Set aside that loonie to remember your admission to All Saints' enormous rummage sale, this Saturday (April 12), from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maybe you'll find a million-dollar treasure. Parking is available at All Saints' Anglican Church, 12935 Keele St., east side, south of King Road in King City. Additional parking is on Doctors Lane, just east of Keele Street, and south off King Road, with walking access to the church parking lot. We feature something for everyone: white elephant tables, a room of children's games and toys, books, clothing for all ages and seasons, linens and curtains, small furniture and our boutique of exceptional clothing and jewelry. Bring a friend or two along to our annual event! This Sunday (April 13), the men are once again cooking breakfast for everyone at 9 a.m., followed by the family worship service at 10:30 a.m. As well, the BCP Holy Eucharist in the Chapel takes place at 8 a.m. The following Sunday (April 20), kids under 12 meet for their breakfast at 9 a.m., for Bagels and Bags of Fun. The video series continues Tuesdays on Philip Yancey's book What's So Amazing about Grace? Call the office for information about the 1:30 p.m. group. Let's share how we can carry God's lifechanging grace to the world. The prayer retreat at the Convent of the Sisters of St. John the Divine, 233 Cummer Ave., west of Bayview Avenue, is April 18, from 4 p.m. to April 19 at 4 p.m. April 26, from 9 to noon, with warmer temperatures arriving, we need your enthusiasm to spring clean the whole church. Find your cleaning items and rubber gloves, and enjoy camaraderie, and the donuts and coffee provided. Mother's Day, May 11, plan to bring out the family for Pentecost Sunday. John Ortberg's awardwinning book, If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get out of the Boat is a biblical study on what it really means to live by faith. We'd love to have you join us to discuss this inspiring book over coffee in the lounge Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Books are available in the narthex or call the office. We'll be discussing chapter two this week. Prayer and Praise is for all and meetings are held in the pastor's study Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. The Busy Moms group will be meeting at the Scheuring's Friday at 10 a.m. for their Bible Study and tots' playtime. This coming Monday (April 14) at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Justus Mwanda, director of International Needs Uganda will be with us while in Canada on deputation. Won't you join us for dessert as we take this great opportunity to find out firsthand about this project we as a church have committed to support. Mark you calendars. News from the Pews This Sunday (April 13) is our Confirmation Service. We have nine young people officially joining our United Church family. If you are family or friends, I'm sure they would love to have you join our congregation to support them on this special day in their "growing up" years. To be confirmed are Dean and Denis Orr, Mary and Leona Balsdon, Nicole and Hunter Weston, Josh and Emma Caruso, and Karen Edmunds. Blessings to all. Our next UCW meeting is April 16, - a supper meeting at the home of Freda Emerson. The topic is April unlocks the flowers to paint the laughing soil. There will be a guest speaker. Only the finest of china and silver tea service will be used, with a variety of delicious teas, fancy sandwiches and desserts. It will be just $7 for adults and $4 for children. Now that's a deal. Men are also invited. Plus, we will have a display of old tea cups and saucers, cream and sugar dishes, tea caddies and other accessories. Marianne Kennedy, whose cup overfloweth with musical talent, will be entertaining us. Supervision for pre-schoolers will be provided while you enjoy your tea. April 10 will see practices for the choirs in the sanctuary. The handbells practice at 6:45 p.m. with Dorothy, and the vocal choir starts at 8 p.m. with Rosemary. New faces are always welcome if you love music. Make plans to join our fourth Annual King City Amazing Race June 7 starting at 1 p.m. This is a great afternoon of fun. The cost is $5 per person. Come, be blessed and be a blessing. The King Bible Church Overtimers are hosting a Springtime Tour May 13. The cost is $55 per person. A highway coach will depart from the church at 8 a.m. promptly. There will be a stop for a coffee break in Colborne, and lunch will be at Church in Warkworth, with a tour of Prince Edward County included.
