Parishioners called upon for spring cleaning All Saints' Anglican Church Submitted by Claire Alexander As we experienced with this year's early Easter, the first full moon after the vernal (spring) equinox determines many church dates under the Gregorian calendar, unless the full moon comes on a Sunday, and Easter is delayed a week. Thank you to the choir and brass quartet for inspiring Easter music: Heather Holmes, Dan Flaherty, Hailey McInnis, and Tim Skinner. Now with the arrival of spring, and with the unusually early Easter behind us, we can await snowdrops, daffodils and tulips, and a full April calendar. We also pass along encouragement to our students who are writing papers and exams to finish a college or university term. This Sunday (April 6), youth (12 and over) meet for their Hot Bagels/Hot Topics breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by the contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m., led by the Alexander family. As always, the BCP Holy Eucharist is celebrated in the Chapel at 8 a.m. The video series continues Tuesdays on Philip Yancey's book What's So Amazing about Grace? Call the office if you are interested in joining us. You are warmly invited to share how we can carry God's life-changing grace to the world. Note upcoming Sunday parish breakfasts at 9 a.m.: Apr. 13, breakfast for everyone, cooked by the men; and Apr. 20, kids under 12, Bagels and Bags of Fun. The famous Rummage Sale is almost here - April 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Now that spring (and spring cleaning) is really here, drop off your seasonal items, books, and boutique treasures during office hours at the Atrium (parking lot) door, and come and help sort clothing and white elephant items Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. until noon. Sorry, we are unable to accept mattresses, TVs, and electronic equipment. Volunteers, come and help organize everything in the church hall from Tuesday to Friday, April 8 to 12. Students, phone the church office to help during the sale April 12, and earn community service hours. Call (905) 833-5432 or (905) 833-2654. Parishioners, we need your elbow grease April 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, to spring clean the whole church. Bring your buckets, window cleaner, rubber gloves, dustcloths, and your humour. Donuts and coffee will be provided. Pentecost Sunday comes very early this year, falling on Mother's Day, May 11.
