Father Suren to hold final Lloydtown service Submitted by Shirley Stonehouse Members of the Happy Times Euchre Club played their weekly round of cards. They reported attendance was down due to other commitments of some of the members of the club, but hopefully they'll be back at full capacity next week. The first place Euchre winner was Arlene Bowen, followed by Dorothy Rodgers, Greta Graham and Gloria Clarkson. Winning the ladies' lucky draw was Mildred Jessop. Among the men, Al Jackson took the first place spot. Dan Gould, Ken Hodgson and Arnold Rodgers were also among this week's top players. Jake Steenhoek won the men's lucky draw. This week's 50/50 draw winners were Ken Hodgson and Blanche Crane. There was a race between Mary Hammett and Jake Steenhoek to see who would sit at their beginning table the longest ... it was a tie as both moved after the 9th game to end the day of play. Maybe next week you'll both find better partners! Father Suren's final service on April 20 Submitted by Lea Steenhoek The Parish of Lloydtown will be having a combined service on Sunday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene's Anglican church in Schomberg. This will be Father Suren's last service in the parish.
We wish him God's blessings as he ventures off to his new church in Pickering. All are welcome to attend this service. |
