Final baseball registration will be Saturday
By Lee-Ann Brinovec

It is hard to believe that spring is just around the corner, considering the amount of snow we have received this past month.

But the first day of spring is just three weeks away.

The start of spring means the start of baseball season. There are many exciting new events that are going to be part of this 2008 season in the King Township Baseball Association (KTBA).

Final registration will be taking place this Saturday (March 8) from 10 a.m. until noon at both the King City and Schomberg arenas.

New this year, there will be an Intact House League Tournament in each of the age groups, from rookie to midget. KTBA is pleased to have been chosen to host the tournament in the mosquito age group in July.

KTBA will also be hosting their second annual Senior Rookie Select Tournament.

For anyone who would like to volunteer as a coach, there will be a clinic April 26 in Nobleton. Please contact Tom Ellison if you are interested.

As part of the fundraising efforts, KTBA will be selling raffle tickets with some exciting prizes, including a trip for four to Los Angeles with airfare, accommodations and tickets to a LA Angels game.

If your son or daughter would like to play ball this season, please sign them up soon, as team numbers will once again be capped to allow each player the maximum amount of playing time and instruction.

See you on the diamonds!
