World Day of Prayer Friday at All Saints' Both men and women are invited this year to All Saints' for the World Day of Prayer this Friday (March 7), at 1:30 p.m., followed by refreshments. Extra parking will be available on Doctors Lane. In preparing the program theme, God's Wisdom Provides New Understanding, the women of Guyana include a short drama on Mary and Martha. All Saints' invites you to a free breakfast at 9 a.m., between the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services, cooked by the men. Come and make some new friends. Maundy Thursday (March 20) at 7:30 p.m., meet to recall how Jesus washed the disciples' feet before the Last Supper, and left us a commandment to love one another. For the Good Friday ecumenical service (March 21) at 10:30 a.m., All Saints' welcomes as guest preacher Rev. Bob Biggar of King City United Church. Come and celebrate the Resurrection with us Easter Sunday (March 23) at 8 a.m. in the chapel; and 10:30 a.m. in the church, when a nursery is available. Enjoy the choral celebration of the Resurrection, and stay to meet new friends over refreshments. Around the globe for Earth Hour 2008, March 29, from 8 to 9 p.m., the World Wildlife Fund encourages using less power; and the Christian ecumenical justice group KAIROS wants to tell our government that churchgoers in Canada also strongly endorse reducing our carbon footprint in the climate crisis. KAIROS will host a candlelit prayer service at All Saints, from 7:45 to 9 p.m. that night. Thank you to the choir for their ministry of music: Come to the Table of Mercy. Following the service, the choir enjoyed a visit to TK's Restaurant in Aurora for a very substantial brunch prepared by the Assistant Kitchen Manager Jodie Patterson from King City. This was also our opportunity to celebrate a special birthday of our choir's conductor, Alison Skinner. Prayer and Praise resumes tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. in the Pastor's Study, and the Busy Moms have an outing at Bruce's Mill to see the Sugarbush Maple Festival, this Friday (March 7) at 10 a.m. Please call Beth, Miriam or the Church for further information. Friday afternoon the ecumenical service for the World Day of Prayer will be held @ All Saints Anglican Church this year at 1:30 p.m. The service materials were written by women in Ghana. Everyone is invited. St. Andrew's Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Coffee Fellowship time. Sunday school and nursery care run concurrently with the church service. Seniors' euchre The leading player among the ladies at the Feb. 22 euchre evening at King City Seniors' Centre was Emily Zammit (85 points), followed by Barb Male (77) and Hilda Fawcett (49). The top player at the men's tables was Vic Warner (93), followed by Charlie Zammit (74) and Rena Gordon (47). Draw winners were Jenifer Merritt, Diane Simmonds and Betty Simmonds. Thanks go out to all of those who contributed to the luncheon.
