Lots to do over March break at local libraries Looking for something to do over the upcoming March break? The King Township Public Library has a number of events on tap at its various branches. Red Cross Babysitting Come to the library during the break and let the Red Cross Babysitting course train you for your first babysitting job. Learn important childcare skills and what to do in case of an emergency. The cost of the program is $50. It's designed for youngsters aged 11 to 16, and will run March 8 at the Schomberg branch of the library, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Special Story Time Guest Can you guess who's coming to the library? A favorite story book character will be dropping by the library for this special story time, It will be at the King City branch March 11, starting at 1 p.m., and at Nobleton March 13, starting at 2 p.m. Pre-register in advance. This is a free program for pre-school aged children. The Creepy Crawlers Express The library has invited live creepy crawlers to visit. There will be live insects, lizards and furry friends at three branches March 13. They will be at King City starting at 11:30 a.m., Schomberg at 2 p.m. and Nobleton at 3:45 p.m. Pre-register in advance. The cost is $3 per person, and the program is intended for children aged six and older (younger if accompanied by a caregiver). Mad Science Slime Do you like science? A Mad Scientist is coming to the King City and Schomberg libraries March 12 to share some of his zany and exciting experiments. The program is designed for children aged six and older (younger if accompanied by a caregiver). Again, participants are asked to pre-register. The cost of the program is $3 per child. It will be in King City at 12:30 p.m., and Schomberg at 3. St. Patrick's Day Fun Come out for some St. Patrick's Day fun March 15. There will be tons of great activities, such as playing games, listening to stories and making a craft. This program is also designed for children aged six and older (younger if accompanied by a caregiver), and participants are asked to pre-register. The cost is $3 per child.
