Police services board re-elects chairman and vice-chairman

Georgina Deputy Mayor Danny Wheeler was reelected chairman of the York Regional Police Services Board last Wednesday.

'I'm thrilled and honoured to once again be able to lead this police services board," said Wheeler. "I've been a member for the last six years and I've seen many changes during this time, with the changes being for the better for this organization and the people of the community. They are the ones this organization is there to protect, to ensure there is a very safe feeling for the people in this community."

"I am proud to serve the citizens of York Region as chairman of our police services board and I thank fellow board members for their support again this year."

The police services board also re-elected Joe Persechini as its vicechairman.

"I want to thank the board for once again electing me to the position of vice-chairman," Persechini remarked. "I will enjoy working with my colleagues and the community again this year to advance the public safety agenda on behalf of all citizens in York Region."
