Bomb threat closes Highway 400 A 44-year-old man from Nottawasauga Township is facing numerous charges after a stretch of Highway 400 was closed Monday night, due to a report of a bomb. York Regional Police responded at about 9:22 p.m. to a report from a man, believed to be possibly suicidal, who claimed to have a bomb in his vehicle, which was in the southbound lanes of the highway, south of Lloydtown - Aurora Road. Police found a man in a silver Honda Civic, and they had the highway closed, with help from OPP. They reported the man was taken into custody after several hours of negotiations. The charges include dangerous driving, weapons dangerous, and breach of recognizance. The investigation is continuing. OPP reports the northbound lanes of the highway were reopened at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the road was fully opened at approximately 3:40 a.m. |
