Patrick's Day to be celebrated Due to the warm weather last week, the Dufferin Marsh annual Community Skate and Bonfire was postponed to this Saturday (Feb. 16) from 3 to 6 p.m. The Marsh is off Dr. Kay Drive in Schomberg. Come out and bring your skates, enjoy a fun family time with hotdogs, marshmallows and hot chocolate. St. Patrick Church There will be a Pasta Night at St. Patrick's Parish Hall Feb. 29 from 4:30 until 7 p.m. The cost will be $10 for adults, $3 for children, and kids aged five and younger will get in for free. For tickets, call Rose at (905) 939-2438 or the Parish Office at (905) 939- 2256. St. Patrick's Day celebrations (sponsored by St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus and Catholic Women's League), will be March 15 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Schomberg Community Hall. Admission will be $15 for adults and $5 for children, with youngsters five and under getting in for free. Tickets are available after weekend masses, or by phoning Al at (905) 936- 2992. Happy Times Euchre Club Submitted by Shirley Stonehouse The top player among the ladies at the Feb. 6 session of the Happy Times Euchre Club was Mary Hammett, followed by Peggy Johnston, Dorothy Rodgers and Colleen Coulter. The lucky draw winner was Shirley Stonehouse. Leading things at the men's tables were Walter Hill, followed by Blake Coulter, Bob Bishop and Annie Hill. Lorne Lipsett was the lucky draw winner. The 50/50 draw winners for the day were Jake Steenhoek and Elaine Ruddy. |
