Pastor Bob is offering a discussion group Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on "The Reason for Jesus." They will be Feb. 15, 22, 29, March 7 and 14. Please join us for any or all of them. Another inspirational program will be viewing segments of the film The Gospel of John. It began Feb. 10 and continues to March 16 from 11:30 a.m. to noon in the parlour of the church. Our busy ladies are making individual turkey pies for sale Feb. 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Orders are being taken at (905) 833-3003 or (905) 833-1631, or stop in. Registration forms are available in our narthex for 2008 Camo Big Canoe. Pick one up. Mark your calendars for March 14, for our Traditional Irish Dinner (beef), with Irish entertainment and lots of Irish songs. If you aren't Irish, pretend you are.Tickets will be available next week by calling (905) 833-1631. Our doors are always open at 50 Elizabeth Grove, east of Keele Street (turn at the EMS station). Sunday services are at 10 a.m., with Sunday school and nursery included. Let's find a way to share that love with someone else this week! All Saints' invites you to come for a quiet service of Holy Communion in the Chapel this Sunday at 8 a.m. Or, meet in the Church for our family service at 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school and nursery provided, and coffee hour following, using Fair Trade coffee. Feb. 19, engage in a Lenten church history session at 7 p.m., led by Rev. Canon Jerry Loweth. We plan to cover both Thomas Cranmer's production of the Book of Common Prayer in 1549, and the beginnings of Methodism in England, under John Wesley. All are welcome to join us. Feb. 26, the topics continue with Wartime Anglicanism under Archbishop William Temple, and the modern crisis arising over viewpoints on homosexuality. Now's the time to begin to clear out all your gently used clothing and items for the rummage sale April 12. Drop off your boxes or hangars during office hours, inside the front Atrium door, off the parking lot. We're sorry we can't accept electronic equipment, such as computers and TVs. Come to help sort Tuesdays, from 9 to 12, staring Feb. 19. The choir welcomes new members. Note that during the winter, choir practices change to Sundays, before and after the 10:30 a.m. service. If you are interested in Easter music, check us out! The last Sunday monthly (Feb. 24), we enjoy a contemporary service with the band, instead, at 10:30 a.m. The Food Bank needs canned foods and staples for twelve York Region families for the Feb. 23 pick-up. Drop items off in the cart inside the east (office) door. We take services of Holy Communion to King City Lodge and Sherwood Court, so if anyone has a relative who might like a visit, please call the church. Palm Sunday is March 16, with special services following during Holy Week. Rev. Bob Biggar, of King City United Church, is guest speaker at the Good Friday community service, to be held this year at All Saints' March 21. Easter Sunday events take place March 23. We are excited as we move forward, relying on God's guidance and provision as we seek to serve Him in this community and beyond. This Saturday is our February Family Fun Night, starting with pizza supper at 5:30 p.m. Let the church office know if you're planning to attend and haven't signed up yet. Prayer and Praise is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Pastor's Study. Feb. 15, the Busy Moms group will be in the Church Lounge for their Bible Study, while the children will be cared for in the nursery. The Annual Congregational Meeting is fast approaching! It will take place in the church lounge Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Many important decisions are made at this meeting and interesting reports and information will be made available. Come out to discuss, be informed, vote and offer your support.
