New edition of Album of Oldies is out

Mayor Margaret Black accepted a copy of the re-published version of Elizabeth Gillham's 1978 Album of Oldies, from Virginia Atkins, president of the King Township Historical Society Monday night.

The re-publishing Elizabeth Gillham's 1978 Album of Oldies, which has been the King Township Historical Society's 35th anniversary project, is complete.

Mayor Margaret Black was presented with a copy of the book at the start of Monday's Township council meeting by Virginia Atkins, president of the King Township Historical Society.

The collection of photographs, dating from the 19th century and into the first half of the 20th, is to be launched at the Society's AGM this Sunday (Feb. 17).

Linked to the book launch at the AGM, the program will address how history is written, and feature a dialogue between two King authors, Heather Robertson and Gavin Watt.

The meeting will start at 2:30 p.m., at the King City Senior Centre, on Fisher Street.
