Victims identified in King homicide

York Regional Police have released the names of the two previously unidentified victims of the Oct. 14 homicide in King.

Forensic examination of DNA by the Centre for Forensic Sciences and ongoing investigation by the York Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau has led to the positive identification of both victims as Lisa Mac, 4, daughter of the accused, and Qian Jenny Zhao, 22, the daughter of the previously identified victim, Zu Ling He, wife of the accused.

Bao Mac, 46, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of first degree murder in connection with the murder of his 47-year-old wife and the others.

Police report a man asked a local resident to call 9-1-1 through an intercom system at her home at about 11:40 pm. Oct. 14. When police and fire personnel arrived at the 7th Concession and 16th Sideroad area, they discovered a van fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, three deceased persons were discovered inside.

The cause of death for all three females has been determined to be the result of gunshot wounds.
