Robbie Burns celebrated at museum
The King Township Museum had its first Robbie Burns dinner Saturday, featuring a sampling of the Haggis and Scottish shortbread. In keeping with the Scottish theme, it was the last day people had to view the Immigrants' Kist, a Scottish chest which tells the story of the Scottish emigrant during the early days of travel by sea. Rob Farrell delivered the Addressed the Haggis, while Daniel Smick, 14, of Kettleby, portrayed Robbie Burns by reciting poems throughout the event. Mark Jenkins, 16, a student at St. Andrew's College in Aurora, entertained those in attendance on the bagpipes.
