King City family starts New year with a baby

Meet Emma Grace Tito, and her parents Fernando and Teresa.
A new year is going to see some population growth in a place like King, but it sometimes takes a while for things to start.

According to the best information obtained by the Sentinel, the first baby of the year in King entered the world Jan. 12 at 12:35 a.m.

Emma Grace Tito weighed in at 8.35 pounds when she arrived at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill. She's the first child of Teresa and Fernando Tito of King City.

The new parents really weren't expecting a New Year's baby. In fact, she arrived two days sooner than she was expected. Her father said he was glad, for her sake, that she didn't come too soon after the holidays. His birthday is Jan. 4, and as he got older, he found everyone was having the big parties for New Year's, with his birthday being celebrated almost as an afterthought.

Emma's grandparents are former King City residents Stella and Donato Tito, who now live in Vaughan, and Antonietta and Arnaldo Riccitelli of Mississauga.

Both parents indicated they plan to spoil their new daughter.

"She's very healthy," her mother said. "A good sleeper. Hopefully, that doesn't change."
