Family Day could be expensive, Conservatives believe

      Ontarians will be getting a new statutory holiday for the first time next month, but there are concerns it's going to cost a lot of money. The creation of he new Feb. 18 holiday, to be known as Family Day, was promised by Premier Dalton Mcguinty during the fall provincial election campaign.

Road conditions keep Township very busy

      During the last couple of weeks, the winter has had a very large presence in King, and Township staff have been up to the task. Roads Foreman Steve Gillies said the Township's plows were out on the roads steadily from Dec. 27 until 4 a.m. Jan. 2.

Food bank will operate Saturday
      The King Township Food Bank will be open for business this Saturday (Jan. 26) from 9 until 11 a.m. Depots will be running out of St. Mary Magdalene's Anglican Church in Schomberg, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Nobleton and All Saints' Anglican Church in King City.
