Chill out and enjoy the fall colours for the period of time that they last

The times we live in often provide challenges, as is currently the case for a lot of people.

There are concerns over the economy, not to mention trying to get our heads around when various politicians are trying to tell us during the current federal election campaign. Add to that the fact that the fall is traditionally a very busy time for many of us, with getting the kids settled in at school, getting the house, lawn, garden and (for the lucky ones) cottage out of summer mode and ready for winter.

And on top of it all, driving in parts of this municipality can be a bit of an adventure, if not an aggravation. Anyone who has tried driving through Nobleton at rush hour lately will know exactly what we mean. As well, there is the fact that we sometimes have to share the roads with maniacs.

But there are other places close at hand which driving to would offer some spectacular views.

The fall colours are out, and they are spectacular.

The change in the colour of the leaves seemed to be a little slow this year. There was hardly any noticeable change, that is until the weekend we just finished with, and we suspect things are going to be a lot better with the weekend to soon start.

We are always hearing about how beautiful a part of the world this is, and anyone familiar with the area knows how true that is. King Township is known for more than just horses.

There is plenty of green here too, especially from the trees, at least in summer. But once the fall sets in, what we are treated to is nothing short of breath-taking.

A few hours exploring the some of the spots in King that you might have thought of visiting some time, but never got around to, might be more delightful than you had imagined.

There are plenty of places where the colours would be worth the trip; far too numerous for us to list here. As well, there is no shortage of places where the car can be parked and you can get out a walk for a bit, or just stand and look.

No matter how stressful our world gets sometimes, there are always these little reminders of the power and the majesty of nature.

And this is one of the best times of the year to take it all in.

What's stopping you?
