King City resident and cancer survivor Jane MacLennan was among those taking part in the Survivors' Victory Lap at the start of the Relay For Life at Pickering College in Newmarket Friday night. She was flanked by the youngest and oldest survivors taking part in the event; Riley Allen, 6, of Aurora, who was accompanied by her grandmother Betty Allen, and by her father Lorne Patterson of Port Carling, who turned 93 Saturday. Arts Society King held demonstrations with various workshop leaders along Main Street in Schomberg recently in preparation for the ASK Festival King July 5 to 18. There was a draw for Helen Lucas' King Blooms banner and the winner was Lynda Hawkins of Woodstock. Workshops are filling fast, so to register for them, call Laura at (905) 859-0056 ext. 5223.
