'WALK' into spring in community clean-up Saturday

Spring is in the air, meaning it's a good time to get out and pick up litter that's been covered by the snow for the last couple of months.

Mel VanSickle, of War Against Litter in King (WALK) has announced the spring litter pick-up will take place this Saturday (April 19) at the car park at the interchange of Highways 9 and 400. It will run from 10 a.m. until noon, rain or shine.

People taking part are reminded to wear suitable clothing, especially footwear and heavy-duty gloves. Bags will be provided, as well as light refreshments.

This is also a good opportunity for students to compile some of their community service hours. They should remember to bring the necessary paperwork from their schools.
