Living in this land of plenty, we encourage families to help send a gift to a developing country this Christmas. Add your name to the church list to help provide a pair of milking goats overseas, or encourage children to send a chosen item from various gift catalogues to another child. World Vision booths are often in the malls at this time of year. For Christmas Eve, we invite the whole community to join us for our joyful celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ. Come to the lively family service and pageant at 5:30 p.m. or to the traditional choral candlelight service at 10:30 p.m. For Christmas day, we gather informally in the Chapel at 10 a.m. to celebrate Holy Communion and sing our favourite carols. We encourage you to find the time to reflect on the meaning of the season and join us this year for a very special Advent and Christmas. But, there are many families with children who cannot have an exciting morning when they see that Santa forgot them. Christmas is a Holy day for remembering the Wise Men and Shepherds bringing gifts to the baby Jesus. It is still a Holy day of his birth and the gifts to little children is a remindere of that day. No little child should be left out and there are so many large companies that have gifts for those children to make a happy Christmas for them. Let us all donate to these funds. Not only do we make a child happy, but it will make ourselves happy, too. God bless the children and those who look after them. Our doors are wide open to the surrounding community for a warm and welcome Christmas feeling in God's house. You will be welcomed by Rev. Bob Biggar and his parishioners to King City United Church. Church services and Sunday school start at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with fellowship and refreshments following the morning services for all. If you are new to the community, King City United Church is one block south of the King Road and one block east of Keele Street, at 50 Elizabeth Grove.
