Landscapes in snow and ice watercolour workshop coming with Ken Macfarlane

Local artist Ken MacFarlane is hosting a watercolour workshop at the King Township Museum this Saturday (Dec. 8).

MacFarlane will demonstrate winter streetscape painting with varied combinations of transparent colours. Emphasis will be on contrasts and patterns of light and dark. Participants will work with simple perspective, lost and found edges and create an exciting illusion of light in their work. Winter skies can be dramatic and present a wonderful contrast to the snow covered buildings.

The class will run from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The cost is $65 for the day. Students are responsible for their own materials. Light refreshments will be offered, but students should bring a lunch. To register, call MacFarlane at (905) 833-1179.

The King Township Museum is at 2920 King Rd., in King City.
