KCSS takes the junior football title
 | | This was one happy group of young football players. The King City Secondary School junior football team rolled over their Huron Heights Secondary School foes 34-0 to take the York Region championship. King City's defence stepped up and made the boys from Newmarket struggle for every yard while the offence was able to pile up the necessary points. But the defence contributed to the scoring as well. Whatever slim hopes Huron Heights had of mounting a comeback were dashed on this play late in the game, when Jake Hartnett intercepted a pass and ran it back about 40 yards for a touch down. "They were the best team in the league," declared Head Coach Murray Miller after the game. "Today, they proved it." |
