King City juniors will fight for the title, while seniors are done for the year
Both of the football teams from King City Secondary School put their season's hopes on the line Friday in their respective semi-final matches. For the juniors, things worked out very well, as they posted at 34-13 victory over Brother Andre at home. They will seek the championship Saturday at 11 a.m. at Esther Shiner Stadium. Darian Waite (left) picked up a nice gain for his mates early in the third quarter as they rolled to victory. The results were not as pleasing for the seniors. They went up against a tough crew from Huron Heights in Newmarket and fell 34-0. Ben Ivany (centre) picked up about 30 yards on this play, but the side needed more than that to keep its season going. They lined up (right) to congratulate the winners at the end of the match.
