Pedestrian struck in King City

The York Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a serious personal injury accident on Keele Street in King City last Wednesday.

They report a York Region Transit bus was southbound on Keele, south of King Road, at about 7:10 p.m. The bus stopped just south of Elizabeth Grove. An 18-year-old King City woman exited the bus and proceeded around the front of the vehicle into a lane of traffic. She was struck by a southbound GMC Sierra pick-up truck.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 44-year-old Maple man, was not injured.
