King's Corners Our doors are wide open to the surrounding community and a warm welcome is extended to all from Rev. Bob Biggar and parishioners at King City United Church. If you are new to the community, King City United Church is one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street, at 50 Elizabeth Grove. Sunday morning services, including the children, start at 10 a.m. The children participate in the early part of the morning services and then go to Sunday school with their teachers, to learn the Bible in the children's way. It will soon be the story of the baby Jesus, and such a wonderful part of the Bible for the children to learn about their friend Jesus. Fellowship and refreshments follow the morning services for all. It's Bible Challenge Sharing Time. Please remember that Pastor Bob is inviting everyone to do the reading. If you don't have the syllabus, it is not too late to get one. Additionally, if some of you would prefer a mid-week discussion time, that can be arranged. Just ask. The King Township Food Bank is in need of the following items: Nov. 25 - side dishes, (potato, pasta or rice); Dec. 2 - powdered milk. Tickets for this year's Men's Dinner, which takes place this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 23 and 24) are still available at a cost of $25 per person, from Alan Henderson at (905) 833- 5047, John Kell at (905) 833-6432 or any member of the chorus. A blood-donor clinic is to be held at the church this coming Monday (Nov. 26) from 4 to 8 p.m. You can save three lives. That is the beauty of giving blood. A team from the Pastoral Oversight Committee of York Presbytery will be visiting King City United Monday at 7.30 p.m. All board members and interested congregation members are invited to attend this meeting. The Season of Advent begins Dec. 2, with a Holy Communion, along with the Contemporary Service. Discover the meaning of sharing! It is Christmas Angel time once again.
