Santa Claus is coming

Main Street Christmas

The festive season is about to start in Schomberg with the annual A Main Street Christmas, to be presented next Saturday (Dec. 1) by the Nobleton Schomberg District Chamber of Commerce.

It will start at 4 p.m. with the annual Santa Claus Parade, and will feature an assortment of costumed carolers, jugglers, entertainers and lots of activities for the children. They will also have the chance to visit Santa and his reindeer, and have their pictures taken with him. As well, there will be plenty of food and drink available, as well as arts and crafts on display.

The festivities will conclude with the spectacular Parade of Light at 8 p.m.

CIBC toy drive

The CIBC branch in Schomberg will again be collecting toys for less fortunate children in the community.

The branch doors will be open next Saturday (Dec. 1) at about 3:30 p.m., in time for the Santa Claus Parade, and contributions can be dropped off then.

As well, staff there will have pots brewing in front with hot chocolate and hot dogs.

Toys can then be dropped by anytime after that, up until Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. New toys only please - no used toys.
