All Saints' Anglican Church
Submitted by Claire Alexander

Rev. Nicola Skinner and the congregation thank all who enriched All Saints' sesquicentennial anniversary Sunday. The sermon of our former incumbent, Bishop George Elliott, gave a sense of continuity, as he reminded us of our spiritual history and outreach, and asked God's blessing on Christmas shoeboxes, well in excess of the goal of 150, now sent on their way.

The mosaic of worship sprang to life as Jan Rakovsky inspired a liturgical dance, and Michael Leach led the soaring choir with the full range of the upgraded organ, funded by the Burns Trust, in memory of Charles and Janet Burns. Organ builder John Struve, rebuilding the entire organ, started with the beautiful outer console and keyboards found in the U.S. By building the inner works and connecting the third keyboard, or choir manual, he not only has added a trumpet and various stops, but has also linked a further 366 pipes and the supporting woodchest or base, obtained from the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine upon their relocation.

Local residents interested in King City history may drop by during office hours for a free 1982 copy of the 125th Anniversary book, with the new updated supplement.

Nov. 18 we celebrate the unusual occurrence of baptizing two sets of twins, grandsons of Leah and Michael Springford, and granddaughters of Lynda and Bill Fines.
