Another tough loss endured by the Scomberg Cougars
By Bill Rea

Pat Homersham was perfectly positioned to get Schomberg's second goal in Thursday's match. Unfortunately for the home side, it was also their last goal in the match which was won 7-2 by Penetang.
The Schomberg Cougars played one game last week, and it resulted in a less than pleasant Thursday evening.

The local side hosted the Penetang Kings, and the visitors handed the side a 7- 2 thumping.

The cougars put forth a credible effort in the second period, but the Kings all but dominated play in the first and third frames.

Shane Jones put his mates on the board with a power-play goal early in the second period, with the assist going to Brandon Lisi. Pat Homershan collected the other marker for the side about 10 minutes later, with help from Enrico Ferri and Brandon Binns.

"Basically, we did a lot of the stuff we've worked on in the second period," Head Coach Gary Waldrum said after the game, adding the key is the guys have put in the full 60 minutes.

He also expressed concern for the team's confidence, as they are still looking or their first win of the campaign, although the addition of a few new bodies, such as Homershan, who played with the club last year, should help.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow (Thursday) night, when they will host the Fergus Devils, starting at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night will see them travelling to Erin for a 7:30 start against the Shamrocks.
