Clocks go back this weekend

Feeling a little sleepdeprived?

Then there's good news for you.

You get an extra hour of sleep this weekend, as the clocks go back, marking the return to standard time.

Make sure you set your clocks, watches, an other time pieces back an hour before retiring Saturday night.

And while you're at it, there are a couple of safety precautions you can take.

King Township Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge said this is a good time to change the batteries in you smoke detectors. As well, a good cleaning and dusting of these devices, as per the manufacturers' instructions, would be in order. He added checking the carbon monoxide detectors in the home is a good idea.

For more information, Burbidge suggested calling Fire Prevention Officer Keith Wells at (905) 833- 2800.
