St. Alban's Church still looking for volunteers for food drive There is an urgent need for volunteers to help with the Halloween food drive that will be taking place tonight (Wednesday) from St. Alban's Anglican Church in Nobleton. Fr, Suren Nathan of St. Alban's put the word out yesterday, asking anyone who can help out to contact him at (905) 939-2314, or show up at St. Alban's tonight between 6 and 6:30 p.m. St. Alban's is at 13162 Highway 27, north of King Road. The plan is for the young volunteers to go through the community collecting contributions for the King Township Food Bank. The needed items include hot chocolate; cereal; canned meats like ham, chicken or turkey; coffee, tea, oatmeal and side dishes. About two hours of work will be required from each volunteer, and they can go towards the students required volunteer hours. People wishing to contribute to the Food Bank can also drop off donations at the local library. |
