GETTING THE SET READY FOR PLAY IN LASKAY

The Laskay Lou Players are getting ready for their next production, entitled It's News to Me. Writer and director Mary Scott said the play was inspired by a collection of newspapers from 1904 that her husband found in the cornerstone of Laskay United Church. The story deals with two brothers who report for rival newspapers. Judy Shuhendler watches as her daugther works on set decorating. The play will be performed at Laskay Hall (Weston Road, south of King Road) this Friday (Oct. 26) at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and proceeds are slated to go toward the purchase of new backdrop curtains for the hall.
