Nobleton kids will collect food too for Halloween Not all the kids going door-to-door Halloween will be looking for candy. St. Alban's Anglican Church will be holding a Halloween food drive next Wednesday night, with young volunteers going through the community collecting contributions for the King Township Food Bank. "We hope that Nobleton residents will help make the Halloween food drive a success by donating nonperishable food items for our neighbours in need," stated Joseph Gisana, one of the organizers of teh effort. The needed items include hot chocolate; cereal; canned meats like ham, chicken or turkey; coffee, tea, oatmeal and side dishes. "We are hoping that you will either leave a bag of food items outside your door on Halloween night for quick pick up, or give your food bank donation to the volunteer youths who come to your door." The work will start at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in helping out with this effort are asked to call Nathan at (905) 939-2314. About two hours of work will be required from each volunteer, and they can go towards the students required volunteer hours. Participants must preregister, and they will be issued ID cards from the church. |
