SHOT AT WORLD RECORD
Staff and students at Kettleby Public School were among thousands of Ontarians taking part in last Wednesday's effort to set a world's record for the number of people taking a one-kilometre walk at the same time. There were similar efforts at other locations, including Nobleton Public School and Region of York offices in Newmarket. The current record was set a little more than a year ago in Western Australia, and the success of this effort won't be officially known for a while. The Kettleby crowd ended their walk by forming the WRW (World Record Walk) in the school yard. Mayor Margaret Black was on hand to encourage the participants before joining them for two laps of the school field.
