Photo contest deadline is fast approaching

The deadline for submissions to the Moraine in Focus photo contest is Oct. 15.

Presented by the Caring for the Moraine Project (CMP) and the Monitoring the Moraine Project (MTM), the goal of the contest is to showcase the magnificence of the Oak Ridges Moraine while at the same time showing appreciation and support to its stewards. The grand prize is $1,000, and $500 to the top youth photographer.

In addition, a number of great prizes for regional winners have been donated by local businesses.

Paramount to the goal of the contest is a requirement that all photographs must be taken on the Oak Ridges Moraine, and fall into one of the four following categories: land and water; plants and animals; people and communities; and youth photographer.

Entries may be submitted in either print or digital format. For those shooting digitally, cameras should be set on the highest image quality available.

Winning entries, as well as other submissions, will be displayed at venues across the moraine in November.
