Minor bantam Knights drop a pair of decisions in their action last week
Submitted on behalf of the NobleKing Knights minor bantam hockey team

This past weekend the NobleKing Knights minor bantams took on two teams from their regular season division.

In the first game Friday evening, the Knights faced off against the Bradford Bulldogs but were defeated by a score of 3-1.

Throughout the game, the Knights hung tough and made the Bulldogs work hard to earn their win. A solo goal by defenceman Brenden Ottaway was all the offense the Knights could come up with. Their hopes were kept alive throughout the game by solid goaltending from John Salome.

The other game, against the Richmond Hill Stars Saturday evening, was close as well, but again the Knights were defeated 4-2.

There was no scoring in the first period, despite many good attempts by both teams The goaltending at both ends was solid, but neither team could put anything up on the scoreboard.

In the second period, the Stars mounted a strong offence and the Knights fell back midway through the period by a score of 3-0. Later in the second, defenceman Robbie Pizzicarola made a hard pass to Nick Heintzman who buried one past the Star's goal tender to put the Knights on the scoreboard.

In the third, the Knights scored again off a loose puck floating around the Stars'net. Marco Mussato never gave up and slid the puck under the goaltender to come within one goal. With only three minutes left to play the Stars secured their win with the final goal of the game.

The evening saw another solid performance in net by Ben Rossetto, as well as a great effort by Robbie Pizzicarola who made some good plays for the Knights.
