Under-8 boys play in Unionville tournament The King City Youth Soccer Club under-8 boys' select team recently competed in the Unionville Milliken All Star/Select tournament in Unionville. In their first game, the Royals battled Erin Mills, losing 4-0. Considerable energy came from Ryan Del Bianco, Brandon Barone, Anthony Kasali and Jeremy Wong. In the second outing, the team played a highly skilled rep team from Brampton, losing 5-0. The Brampton Bulls finished the roundrobin series in first place. Excellent efforts were turned in by Andrew Warner, Juliano Conetta, Evan Colarossi and JP Martin. In the next game, the Royals faced the Pickering Vipers in a hard-fought contest, eventually losing 3- 0. Strong performance came from Nicholas Payne, Andrew Oppedisano, Michael Quattrociocchi and Michael Di Carlo. The final round-robin game was the charm, as King faced the Markham All-Star Gold team and won 3-0 in a close f ought battle. Great goaltending from Payne and a pair of goals scored by Del Bianco and a single Oppedisano drew the victory. Head Coach Rob Payne congratulated the team on their tremendous effort and determination throughout the tournament. |
