18th annual Feast of Fields will offer organic delicacies

It promises to be a leisurely, sumptuous experience celebrating the sustainable growth, preparation and consumption of organic food. Feast of Fields will be an afternoon of indulgence on the pastoral acres of Everdale Organic Farm and Environmental Learning Centre near Erin this Sunday (Sept. 16) from 1 to 5 p.m. It will feature VQA wines, local craft beers and farmfresh organic delicacies created by gourmet southern Ontario chefs.
Enjoy creations from outstanding chefs from some of the finest restaurants in our area, including Daniel's of Nobleton, Hogan's Inn, Langdon Hall, Millcroft Inn and Spa, Ste. Anne's Inn and Spa, Octopus' Garden, as well as Orangeville's Juniper Grill, The White Truffle, and Seasons on Mill Street, to name a few. All food is created to be eaten by hand on ingenious edible and natural "plates," eliminating plastic and paper waste. Upwards of 15 wineries and microbreweries will offer samples of local or organic drinks to complement the dishes, resulting in an abundant feast of epicurean proportions.
Feast of Fields is an annual event which celebrates the connection between those who grow the food, those who prepare it and those who eat it. This year's theme, Sustainability Starts with your Local, Organic Farm, highlights the importance of local food systems and organic agriculture. For the first time, the event will host a bustling organic farmers' market.

Don't be disappointed - in past years, tickets have sold out in advance! This is a rain or shine event.
It is being sponsored by the Ontario Greenbelt, which preserves and permanently protects nearly one million acres of key environmentally sensitive land and some of the best farmland in Canada from urban development and sprawl. The Greenbelt surrounds the province's Golden Horseshoe and is critical to the vitality and viability of the entire region, quality of life for Ontarians, and securing a local food source.
A portion of proceeds will go to the Ecological Farmer's Association of Ontario.
