CORN ROAST TO START THE YEAR RIGHT
     The parent council at Holy Name Catholic School in King City marked the start of another academic year with a family corn roast Friday night. Mary Grande, Maureen Paric and Sabrina Critelli were trying some of the first samples.

Great weather once again graces annual Kettleby Fair
     The weather was great, and so was the mood of the people attending the 31st annual Kettleby Fair Saturday. It was a chance to meet old friends and make some new ones, which is what Sarah Clark, 2, and her brother Nathan, 4, of Aurora were doing at the petting zoo.

Fire fighters holding carnival for Camp Bucko
      The newest recruits for King Fire and Emergency Services will be holding a charity carnival Sept. 23 to raise funds for Camp Bucko. Camp Bucko is a facility located near Minden which offers programs for children recovering from burn injuries.

Come out for Terry Fox Sunday
      Once again, King City is hosting the King Township Terry Fox Run this Sunday (Sept. 16). This will be one of many events taking place all over. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate. Last year, $12.7 million was raised for cancer research in Ontario alone.
