Area to play host to major international equestrian event
      The 10th annual Tournament of Champions, scheduled for Sept. 20 to 23 at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, will bring to the forefront many of North America's preeminent show jumping riders. It will also bring an estimated $4.5 million dollars in economic impact to the region.

WENDOVER UNVEILS NEW TRACK
      Wendover Training Centre in Schomberg unveiled its new half-mile training track for thoroughbreds recently with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Mayor Margaret Black. Joining her were former property owner Frank Hayhoe, Anthony DiBatista of Clearway Construction Inc.

Wild will have more foes in second season as the league has expanded

      The King Wild are getting ready for their second season in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League. The team is in the midst of training camp, although they took to the ice Thursday in Vaughan, and posted a solid 8-2 win over the Toronto Canada Moose.
